Integration Server 11.1 | Integration Server Administrator's Guide | Server Configuration Parameters | Introduction

Introduction
This appendix contains a description of the parameters you can specify in the server configuration file (server.cnf), which is located in the Integration Server_directory\instances\instance_name\config directory. Typically you will use the Settings > Extended page from the Integration Server Administrator to update this file, but there might be times when you need to edit the file directly using a text editor. If you edit the file directly, you should first shut down the Integration Server before updating the file. After you make the changes, restart Integration Server.
Note:
If you are using the Settings > Extended page to update the server configuration file (server.cnf), server restart is not required unless otherwise specified. Integration Server Administrator displays the message “Restart is required for changes to take effect.” if a configuration change was made that requires a server restart for the change to take effect.
Integration Server uses default values for many of the parameters. If a parameter has a default, it is listed with the description of the parameter. Many of these parameters are set as you administer the Integration Server using the Integration Server Administrator.
Note:
If you are using a security profile, then the profile controls the values of some of the server configuration parameters. For more information about the server configuration parameters that are affected by a security profile and their values in each of the profiles, see Differences Between Security Profiles. If you update a server configuration parameter corresponding to a setting in the profile, and restart Integration Server, the parameter resets to the value specified by the profile. Using the custom-security.properties file is the only way to override settings applied by a profile. For more information, see Overriding Security Profile Settings.
