Note: To retrieve or access the API key for PagerDuty, ensure that you are an admin or account owner of the PagerDuty account.

Whenever you try to create a PagerDuty account for configuring a trigger or action, you will see the following window:

To generate and retrieve the API key for PagerDuty, follow the steps given below:

Step 1 - Login to your PagerDuty account

Once you login, click on the API Access option under the Configuration tab as shown below:

Step 2 - Create new API key

On clicking the API Access option, a pop-up window will appear on screen. Click on the +Create New API Key button to create an API key.

Next, provide a name or description for the API key in the Description field (E.g. Test) and click the Create Key button.

You can now see the API key, API Version, and Access Level in the New API Key window.

Copy this key and paste it in the API Key field of the Connect to PagerDuty Window on Integration and then click the ADD button.

An account will automatically be created and added under Connect to PagerDuty field. Once added, this account will be available in all PagerDuty actions and triggers.
